Former England captains Bryan Robson, Peter Shilton and Terry Butcher say they have been blown away by the women team’s progress through the tournament.
England will kick off against old footballing foes Germany at 5pm in front of an expected sell-out 90,000 crowd at Wembley.
The showpiece is set to break TV viewing records for women’s football – and become the UK’s mostwatched event of the year with an estimated 20 million viewing.
Now three of England’s mostcapped male stars have exclusively told the Daily Express of their admiration for Sarina Wiegman’s impressive team.
Robson, 65, who won 90 caps for England from 1980-91, scoring 26 goals and captaining his country 65 times, said: “The team has done fantastically well with some amazing performances to get to the final.
“It is always tough against Germany but I am sure they will take it in their stride like they did in the previous matches, especially the semifinal against Sweden.
“They thoroughly deserve their place in the final and now they have to go on and finish the job.”
Known as Captain Marvel, Robson’s inspirational club career also included 345 games for Manchester United, where he help create Sir Alex Ferguson’s Old Trafford trophy-winning dynasty.
