Akke, of Oldham, Greater Manchester, revealed he was fasting for Ramadan for nearly two weeks before his ascent.
He said: "It really slowed me down. My mouth was so dry you could light a match on it.
"When I got to the summit, I broke down because I had realised my ambition, and God had made my dreams come true."
