As they arrived at Holyhead RNLI station on Anglesey, the Waleses crouched down to have a chat with Theo who was looking smart in his school uniform.
His mum Rebecca said: "We were actually on the way to school when I changed my mind and decided to bring him down here for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
The 35-year-old added: "He has just met the future king. Today's visit is history. We had to be here."
Later on, in Swansea, the Princess was hugged and given more flowers by smiling two-year-old Charlotte Bunting, dressed in traditional Welsh costume.
