Father queries if autism given 'appropriate consideration at Caitlyn inquest

Caitlyn Scott-Lee, 16, was found dead at a private girls' school in April last year, the day before her first detention.

An inquest heard Caitlyn received the punishment at Wycombe Abbey, Buckinghamshire, after a half-empty bottle of vodka was found in her locker.

Senior coroner Crispin Butler concluded yesterday there was "no evidence" to help staff "in identifying what was to tragically happen on the evening of April 21".

The inquest in Beaconsfield heard Caitlyn visited the school nurse on the day she died and was given hay fever medication.

Recording the cause of death as suicide, Mr Butler said: "Right up until this late point no one other than Caitlyn could have or should have known what was going to happen."
