AN extra RAF flight has been sent to rescue Britons from Sudan after fierce fighting erupted in the capital.
The warring sides clashed in Khartoum minutes after what was supposed to be the last flight to evacuate Britons took off on Saturday night from Wadi Saeedna.
The rescue plane was scheduled to leave Port Sudan today. The frigate HMS Lancaster is also sailing to help.
Up to 2,000, mainly dual-nationals, are still thought be stuck in Sudan.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said to make the latest flight nationals must reach the British Evacuation Centre at Port Sudan International Airport by noon.
