But away from the set of the famous TV Boston watering hole, Kirstie Alley's personal life was far more complex, blighted by a passion for her leading men.
Following the actress's death on Monday, one star who captured her heart led the tributes yesterday.
Reacting to the loss, John Travolta - a man she once described as the "greatest love" of her life - shared a stunning nostalgic photo of Kirstie and added another of them smiling at one another.
He said: "Kirstie was one of the most special relationships I've ever had. I love you, Kirstie. I know we will see each other again." The Grease star also shared a clip of the two doing The Dance of Love in 1993's Look Who's Talking Now.
Kirstie, who was only recently diagnosed with colon cancer, was not shy about the love she shared for some of her leading men.
However, she claimed that she stayed faithful during her marriages.
