A RISE in licence fee rebellion is being driven by pensioners stripped of their free viewing.

350,000 over-75s refusing to pay TV licence fees

The proportion of viewers failing to pay the annual £159 went up 1.35 per cent over in 2021/22, House of Commons research reveals.

It said the main reason for the jump was the free licence for over-75s being scrapped.

Analysis by the Silver Voices campaign group claims up to 357,000 older people are resisting paying, more than 100,000 higher than previously believed.
