British sailors and marines on patrol ship Trent chased down a speedboat as its crew desperately tried to dump nearly three tons of cocaine into the ocean.
Trent's crew launched an extensive search through the night to recover the drugs.
They eventually found more than more than 2.5 tons of cocaine valued at £204million.
Trent has now stopped £511million worth of drugs from reaching the streets. The smugglers had been spotted by a US maritime patrol aircraft which alerted the Royal Navy to the suspicious vessel.
