DAME Barbara Windsor’s widower has backed a renewed push to develop a cure for “cruel” dementia, two years after the disease killed the actress.
The Government today recommits to a vow made to the EastEnders star to find treatments for the degenerative brain disease – as it lays out a blueprint to tackle key priorities for the NHS.
It is part of this year’s promise to double funding for dementia research to £160 million a year by 2024/25.
