A VIOLENT man assaulted his sister's boyfriend outside a hospital before taking his car and driving off.
He later called the victim's brother and threatened to stab the victim if he contacted the police, a court heard.
Brandon Davidson, 25, repeatedly punched Thomas Ellis outside the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant on January 1.
The victim and his partner - the defendant's sister - had attended the hospital for an appointment regarding her pregnancy when they began arguing and she texted her brother, who turned up.
A sentencing hearing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard Davidson snatched the car keys from Mr Ellis, told his sister to get out of the car, and then got into the passenger seat of the victim's car.
He then assaulted Mr Ellis by punching him to the head three times.
The victim attempted to drive away but Davidson followed him and punched him again.
He then demanded the keys from Mr Ellis and drove his silver Ford Fiesta away.
