WE'RE FEELING ON TOP OF THE WORLD

He began the week with promotion top of his priority list but headed to Wembley on the back of defeat in the Essex Senior League play-off final, losing the league cup final just two days later.

However, a first look around the home of football quickly banished those memories as attention turned to an FA Vase showpiece that was, in truth, won at a canter against league rivals Great Wakering Rovers.

All of a sudden, Spinks and his boys were on top of the world – and he wouldn’t swap the results.

“I would have done beforehand,” he told The NLP. “If someone had said on Monday that we could win the play-off and lose here, I would have taken it, but not now.
