McCann arrived at New Lodge in the summer as Dan Brown’s successor following a fourand-a-half season stint at Hampton & Richmond Borough boss, which came to an end in January.
Billericay lost their Step 2 status when they were relegated from National League South in 2021-22, and now McCann has taken upon himself to deliver and lead the Blues’ bid to climb out of the Isthmian Premier.
“We want the pressure to be on us as a management team,” he told The NLP. “This is a big football club with big ambitions with a fantastic infrastructure – why shouldn’t we talk about promotion and where this club deserves to be?
“We embrace the pressure and if you are not feeling the pressure, you are in the wrong job because any team driven by success should be in a pressure situation.”
