ROCK'N'ROLL RIDE No 4
Record Collector|September 2022
We've visited three rock'n'roll London locales before. This time, Tim Jones got on his bike for an eco-friendly lap around Richmond & Twickenham
ROCK'N'ROLL RIDE No 4

The London Borough Of Richmond is regularly top-rated in surveys of the best places to live in London, which would explain why so many rockers have resided over the years in Richmond (Anastacia, McFly's Dougie Poynter, The Saturdays' Mollie King, Rick Astley, and Richard Ashcroft of The Verve, whose Urban Hymns sleeve was shot in Richmond Park), and its neighbour across the water, Twickenham. Among the musos born there are 'Fast' Eddie Clarke of Motörhead, Noah & The Whale's Charlie Fink, Anna Calvi, Eric Burdon & The Animals' Vic Briggs, The Cure/ Depeche Mode producer David M Allen, and Olivia Newton-John songwriter David Mindel. These are the two areas that we focused on for ou cycling circuit, starting at the rail/tube station in Richmond.
