We all know the drill: loads of hype and happiness, parties, the countdown, kissing everyone in sight, sending enough texts to break the internet, the promises that this year’s going to be different.
And then waking on 2 January to the cold reality of the work-a-day world stretching ahead of you for another 12 months, before we do it all again. Very few people actually stick to those resolutions that this year it really will be different.
I am not one of those people. Although I have sung Auld Lang Syne enough times to know this and to have given up even pretending to make New Year’s Resolutions™.
