The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) held the Heritage Heroes Awards Dinner on May 5 at The Glasshouse in New York City to honour the champions who embody the spirit of resilience, creativity, courage and heart. Over two days, attendees explored a curated marketplace from local businesses, participated in compelling panels and urgent roundtable discussions, and cheered players on at an All-Star basketball game.
Honourees included Michelle Yeoh (Academy Award-winning actor for Everything Everywhere All at Once for Culture; Phillip Lim, Prabal Gurung, Laura Kim, Tina Leung, Ezra J William (House of Slay) for Arts and Design; Representative Grace Meng for Public Service; Manny Maceda (CEO of Bain & Company) for Corporate; and the founders of The Sikh Coalition, which was accepted by Dr Harpreet Singh (Co-Founder of Sikh Coalition) for Community.
Sheila Lirio Marcelo co-founder and CEO of Proof of Learn, founder of Care.com, and a founding TAAF Board Member, presented the Heritage Hero Corporate Award to Manny Maceda, a Filipino-American advocate of TAAF since its inception. Maceda has served as the global CEO and chairman of the board of Bain & Company since 2018 and is also a founding partner of TA AF.
