An Ethereal Fantasy

He was not pulling a prank when Christopher Quimbo asked Alodia Gosiengfiao to go steady on April 1.

An Ethereal Fantasy

He did not mind that it coincided with what’s commonly known as April Fools’ Day; what concerned him more was if Alodia would believe him and say yes, even after only a month and a half of meeting each other.

Alodia believed Christopher and seemed equally in a hurry to make their relationship official. On the following Valentine’s Day, one year to the day they first met, she was already walking down the aisle in a Mak Tumang creation.

“We were able to make a lovely gown on time. It was designed with some elements of a dragon since I was born that year,” the bride explains.

Her cousin, Melissa Yeung Yap, also went out of her way to sculpt a beautiful white dragon for the reception.

The theme of the wedding was not usual: ethereal and fantasy, as suggested by the event designer Gideon Hermosa. “Christopher is enigmatic and handsome, and Alodia has the regal presence of someone who lived in a fantastical world of cosplay and games,” the designer shares.
