As a girl of 18, who was Andrea then? How did her journey into journey into the entertainment industry begin?
As an 18-year-old I was young, naive and full of dreams. But those dreams were mostly about becoming a world-famous pop star, never a movie star. My journey into the film industry happened by accident, or perhaps it was predestined, depending on the way I choose to see it! There have been many times in the past when I had struggled to come to terms with my life choices, but now I think it's safe to say I'm happy and at peace with where I am in life.
Did you have any personal inspirations growing up?
If so, who? Growing up, my personal inspirations were the holy trinity of pop music at the time- Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey & Celine Dion. I used to sing along with their CDs nonstop until my mother begged me to stop! They really were my idols and I've imbibed a lot of my vocal stylisation from them.
With a career spun over a decade, how do you think you and the industry have evolved over the years?
That's a big change for an industry that's still predominantly male-oriented. Of course, it's not just the industry, the audience has evolved as well because one can't exist without the other.
