If the received wisdom applies to your lifestyle and you find it to be useful as well as helpful in conducting your daily routine for progress, take it. Otherwise, trash it.
Even wisdom words if they conform in every manner to the definition of wisdom as mentioned by those who know? Yes.
Why? Because, apart from knowing what one considers as wisdom can be considered as foolishness by another, words are limited by language and finite in scope, unlike life/reality/Nature which is infinite and unlimited in the ways it acts. As a result, wisdom words cannot be taken as truth in the sense as applicable in all circumstances, at all times, and in all places for everyone.
