WE RESCUED OUR cat, Gizmo, from a kill shelter in the 11th hour. He was very skittish when he came home with us and rarely emerged from our closet. It wasn't until we got Sunshine, our surprisingly gregarious bearded dragon, that Gizmo really came out of his hiding spot and, later, his shell.
