For veteran lawyer Tan Min-Li and her siblings, honouring their late parents means supporting an animal charity. Their love of animals began with their mother, who had a deep connection with her dogs, especially her last spaniel, which slept by her bed every night. Because she treated her dogs as family, she believed that all animals deserved respect and the same access to care as humans.
Min-Li herself was always surrounded by animals during her formative years. She nurtured terrapins in a tank in the bathroom and even managed a thriving colony of earthworms she unearthed from the garden.
