Chopard revealed the latest step in the Journey to Sustainable Luxury at the Watches and Wonders Geneva Salon, announcing the maison's commitment to using Lucent Steel to produce all its steel watches, including bracelets and cases. The innovative material comprises at least 80% recycled steel, with plans to raise the target to at least 90% recycled steel in Lucent Steel by 2025.
The impact of Chopard's commitment ensures a significant reduction of the carbon footprint of its steel creations. Keen to work with the industry to speed up the transition to a net zero steel, Chopard is also the first luxury maison to join Climate Group's SteelZero initiative. The announcement accompanies revolutionary new interpretations of the maison's stylish Mille Miglia, Alpine Eagle, Happy Sport, and L.U.C 1860 watch lines.
