When Tilly Williams entered her first cross-country race at her Adelaide school W two years ago, the then 10-year-old's parents were nervous.
"There were hundreds of kids there and Tilly had never run more than one race in her life," recalls mum Olivia.
"I was thinking there's no way she's going to do well against children who have had some training or Little Athletics." But Olivia and husband Mark were "gobsmacked" when their girl won bronze in the 2000m race.
