NAD has carved a niche with its modular 'not quite an amp, not quite an all-in-one' products and the C 399 is intent on continuing that trend. The largest member of the 'Classic' components, it is available either as an integrated amp with digital inputs for £1,800 or (and how it is tested) with a BluOS module in one of the MDC2 modular sockets for £2,100. This is the first NAD amp to use the MDC2 system, which means Dirac live calibration can be applied to all inputs. It is Roon compatible and there's a spare slot for future use.
