Indian mutual fund industry in 2042
It just goes to show the speed of growth. In this context, to my mind, putting a number would be a mistake, as we could be surprising ourselves when we eventually get there.
Over the last few years, the industry has been growing at a CAGR of nearly 16 per cent. At the same rate, arithmetic could take us to almost ₹1,200 trillion (around five times the current ₹36 trillion), while actual growth may be anywhere. Assuming that we see GDP growth at 6-7 per cent hereon, it would be fair to assume 12-15 per cent growth for the industry.
