The Brief
Every homeowner wants to add a personal touch to their living spaces. For Nat and Francis, this meant incorporating Disney and Peanuts into their home design. The self-described “kidults” are huge fans and didn’t want this part of their personalities to be lost, even though they also wanted a stylish home.
This involved choosing decor that isn’t too loud or colourful, instead keeping the colours neutral and earthy. They also didn’t want to feature tacky items so chose more meaningful decor pieces, such as photographs they took at Tokyo Disneyland, as well as a vintage Disneyland ticket. One unique touch was having themed rooms, such as a Disney-themed living room, office and bedroom, and a kitchen inspired by Peanuts.
It’s not just all about cartoons here, though. The couple chose a Scandi-boho theme because they like the clean and functional aesthetics of Scandinavian design but also want a space where they can embrace their free-spirited nature, expressed through the boho elements.
“The foundation of our home is white and neutral, built up with pops of colour like greens and pastels to create the Scandi-boho vibe,” the couple shares. They aimed for a cosy and inviting feel and chose an open concept to make their living space more enduring. The entire home has an airy layout, with an open-space kitchen as well.
