home profile
THE DESIGNER
Lyon-based Claude Cartier renovated this space for lawyers Géraldine and Thomas and their blended family of four teenagers and a toddler.
THE PROPERTY
A four-storey house in a western district of Lyon, close to the city centre, built in 2012. There is an office-cumTV room and gym with shower room on the ground floor, a living room and kitchen-diner on the first floor, four bedrooms and two bathrooms on the second floor and a main bedroom suite and terrace on the top floor.
Graphic shapes, angular lines and plenty of colour have always been a draw for Géraldine and Thomas, two forward-thinking lawyers who recently moved to this new build with their blended family of four teenagers and a toddler. That move was a chance to make their mark on a contemporary building that nestles in a wooded hillside just a short hop away from the centre of Lyon, with expansive views across the river Saône.
