BACKGROUND
When Helen Wright set up a social media account to document her family’s new build home little did she know it would end up sparking a whole new business venture.
As a geography teacher in a grammar school her social media account gave Helen a creative outlet which she relished. It also made her realise how difficult it is to source good-quality, locallymade furniture and accessories.
Helen explains, ‘I started my Instagram in 2018 after the birth of my second child. I was on maternity leave and we’d just moved into the new house. I had a little bit of time and needed something creative to do so I started blogging and sharing what we had done and the decisions we were making and it all took off from there.
‘We found it difficult to find good quality, local furniture in the style we were looking for so we sourced some contacts and had a few pieces made. That started us thinking about how we could have items made for retail and that’s really the point we started from.’
