Deep beneath the shimmering turquoise waters of the Maldives lies one of the world's most enchanting culinary destinations—Ithaa Undersea Restaurant. Located at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, Ithaa, meaning “mother of pearl” in Dhivehi, stands as the world's first fully undersea restaurant.

Since opening its doors in 2005, it has captured the imagination of travellers and food lovers alike, offering an unmatched combination of breathtaking architecture, refined cuisine, and underwater magic. Dining here is not just a meal—it is an experience that immerses guests into the heart of the sea. Reaching Ithaa is a sensory transition. Guests walk along a serene jetty overlooking clear waters and then descend a spiral staircase into the submerged dining room.

Located five metres (16 feet) below sea level, the restaurant features an arched acrylic ceiling that delivers an incredible 270-degree panoramic view of the surrounding ocean. Tropical fish shimmer past, reef sharks drift in the distance, and manta rays glide like underwater guardians. The intimate space seats only 14 guests, ensuring exclusivity and tranquillity. As natural light dances through the water above, the restaurant is bathed in dreamy blue tones. Subtle ambient lighting complements the environment, allowing the ocean to remain the centrepiece of this unforgettable dining experience.
