MR JOHN ILLSLEY RETIRED as Deputy Headmaster of Pretoria Boys High School at the end of November 2023.
This brings to an end a remarkable formal career of a man who was far more than a teacher – but a genuine educator, driven by a passion to share his knowledge and wisdom with the countless thousands of boys lives he taught. He is a teacher who added much more to his pupils’ lives than simply teaching his subject; history, a subject he holds a cum laude Masters Degree in.
