The annual awards ceremony is a formal event where aviators who have performed significant achievements throughout the year are recognised by their peers. The awards started promptly at 13h30 and David le Roux was the master of ceremonies. After the invited guests were recognised and starters were completed, Rob Jonkers, Chairman of AeCSA addressed the gathering.
SASCOC Protea Colours and Special Acknowledgements
The South African Olympics Committee (SASCOC) only acknowledges participating competitors and their team managers by awarding them Protea colours. Yet many sports require the support of others for competitions to take place. Aero Club acknowledges these whose dedication, commitment and sacrifice is equal to that of the competitors and as necessary by awarding their efforts with Special Acknowledgement Certificates.
SOARING SOCIETY OF SOUTH AFRICA (SSSA)
Senior Protea Colours awarded to Uys Jonker, Jason Adriaan, Oscar Goudriaan, Dolf Pretorius, Nico Le Roux, Attie Jonker and Riaan Denner for participating in the 37th FAI World Gliding Championships from 23 July to 6 August 2022 in Szeged, Hungary.
Junior Protea Colours awarded to Michael Tiffen, Phillip Jonker, Henry Richard Daly and William Richard Daly for participating in the 12th Junior World Gliding Championships, held from 30 July to 13 August 2022 in Tabor, Czech Republic.

Special Acknowledgement goes to Naomi Kotzee for her participation in the 2022 Woman's Vertical World Record and the 2022 Vertical World Record in Chicago, USA on 22 August and 20 November 2022, respectively.
