Nicolas Ghesquière may have brought a conceptual edge to Louis Vuitton with his century-hopping, culture-clashing collections, but the core of the brand has always been beautifully made classics that stand the test of time. The Capucines bag definitely falls into the latter category. Since its introduction in 2013, the strikingly minimalist bag-with its architectural shape and subtle use of the LV logo as a graphic element-has been a hit, thanks to its day-to-night versatility.
Now, the House expands its Capucines range via new offerings in fresh hues and rich textures with artisanal details that are testament to the savoir faire of the Louis Vuitton ateliers. New colours for the season include Orange Tonic lined with Rose Jasmin, and Apple Green paired with Lavender. In BB and Mini sizes, the bags feature a detachable Taurillon leather strap braided with gold chain. A leather Mini in cream comes embellished all over with green embroidery-the braided effect (which takes 68,000 stitches to accomplish) a nod to the brand's signature Damier checks.
