A Silent Beast

Riaan Jacob George took Audi's brand new Q8 Sportback e-tron for a spin and here's why he loves it
A Silent Beast

Audi’s latest drop is a luxe electric iteration - the Q8 e-tron - the ultimate lifestyle car, which goes effortlessly from weekday city driving to adventurous weekend getaways on different terrains. Not only does this car feature a very design-forward language, but it is designed to be a silent performer, with an impressive 600km range and indulgent bells and whistles on the inside. We recently test-drove the Sportback 55 version and found it to be an absolute beauty to drive.

GOOD LOOKS

For car design enthusiasts, the biggest talking point of this vehicle is that Audi has reimagined its iconic four ring logo. Go up close to the front grille and you will notice that there is a flat, 2-D logo, a move away from its 3-D logo, giving it a more minimalist vibe. This logo is, of course, accentuated by projection lights through the grille.

In terms of appearance, the Q8 e-tron has that signature Audi road presence, with understated clean lines, slight pops of colour (read the red brake callipers on the 20-inch alloys), chrome accents through the car and black door inlays.
