Cosmo: Tell us your number-one secret for flawless skin. Is it high-quality ingredients, ample sleep, or treatments...
Shraddha Kapoor: “I believe in the ‘less is more’ philosophy. Over the years, I have learnt to stick to what I know works best for my skin. Icing my face is something that I swear by, because it instantly reduces puffiness and leaves my skin refreshed. I also pay attention to what I eat. I think you are what you eat, and it reflects on your face...so I ensure I eat clean, balanced meals.”
C: Many celebrities credit ‘water’ for their beautiful skin...
SK: “...guilty! I ensure I drink a lot of water every day. It keeps me hydrated, of course, and I have seen a noticeable difference in my skin, too—it appears clear and healthy. I like to infuse various kitchen ingredients like lemon, tulsi, aniseed or ginger in lukewarm water and sip it through the day.”
C: What takes up more of your time: caring for your skin or hair?
SK: “I consider both equally important. One ritual that my mother and I religiously follow is to whip up different DIY face and hair masks using natural ingredients—my mother has been passing on these natural remedies and DIY recipes to me since I was a child, and I think it is such a lovely bonding experience.”
C: Are there any professional skin treatments you love?
