ALISON & LARRY: BILLERICAY TO BARRY

MONDAY, 8PM, GOLD TRAVELOGUE (BOX SET, SKY BOX SETS, VIRGIN TV & NOW)

Lison Steadman and Larry Lamb have been good friends for almost three decades, with their bond growing stronger when they starred alongside each other in BBC hit Gavin & Stacey as Gavin’s doting parents Pam and Mick Shipman.

Now, the actors are delighted to be celebrating the muchloved comedy as they reunite for a new Gold travelogue, Alison & Larry: Billericay to Barry, which will see them on a scenic journey from Gavin’s Essex home town to Stacey’s native Wales.

Along the way, they’ll take part in a range of activities, visit places close to their hearts and catch up with some former co-stars.

TV Times met Alison, 76, and Larry, 75, at a London hotel to find out more about the threepart series…

What was the inspiration behind the show?

LARRY Driving across the country is so special. There was a lot to talk about, so you get to know something about us as human beings and not as actors. It’s about us being ourselves on the road, not about Pam and Mick going on a holiday.
