CRUFTS NEW THURSDAY & FRIDAY, TIMES VARY, C4 & MORE4 FACTUAL

The nation’s dog lovers will be straining at the leash to lap up four days of canine capers as Crufts returns to the NEC in Birmingham this week. From the prestigious Best in

Show to the thrilling flyball and agility events as well as The Kennel Club Hero Dog Award, C4 and More4 will be showing more than 15 hours of doggy delights, with the regular presenting team of Clare Balding, Radzi Chinyanganya and Sophie Morgan on hand to make sure you don’t miss a trick.

TV Times caught up with author, broadcaster, disability campaigner and lifelong dog lover Sophie, 39, for an exclusive interview to find out what treats lie ahead…

This is your third year reporting on ‘the world’s greatest dog show’. How are you feeling about being back at the helm?

Yes, it’s becoming a yearly ritual that I very much look forward to!

What have you learnt from your Crufts experience so far?

People should choose the breed that suits them, not the one they like the look of, or that’s popular. You should fit your character and lifestyle to the dog. Then we won’t see so many people struggling with or giving up their dogs.

Which breeds of dog would you say you and your Crufts colleagues Clare and Radzi are most like?

Oh, my God, can I just do me?! I’d be either a Rottweiler or a West Highland terrier!

Many of us enjoy watching flyball and Best in Show. What else is going on at Crufts that you enjoy?
