Let's get CRACKING!

THIS MORNING
MONDAY-GOOD FRIDAY, 10AM, ITV1 LIFESTYLE

With Easter fast approaching, there was only one person TV Times thought to call for egg-citing baking inspiration: This Morning’s sweet-treat superstar Juliet Sear. Although she has a rather surprising confession to make first…

‘Believe it or not, I haven’t got a very sweet tooth myself,’ laughs baker-to-the stars Juliet, who’s been making cakes for celebrities and royalty for over 13 years.

‘I love a taste of what I make, but it’s the decoration part I love – the craft of it. And Easter, with all the cute decorative chicks, pastel colours and mini eggs is heaven for me!’

Here, in an eggs-clusive interview, mum-of-three Juliet reveals her Easter traditions and tips, plus shares with us an eggs-quisite cheesecake recipe (see right)…

We take it you’re a fan of Easter, then?

It’s probably my favourite holiday. You’ve got the coming together of family and friends, and big feasts, but without having to buy loads of presents! There also seems to be less pressure in the kitchen, and you can be more playful with cooking and baking.

What are your childhood memories of Easter?

Both my mum and dad were very much into parties and gatherings, so Easter was all about cooking a huge roast beef and chicken dinner. They used to hide little chocolate eggs around the house for me to find, and I had the same tradition for my kids when they were little – you can’t beat an Easter egg hunt!
