MARTIN CLUNES: ISLANDS OF THE PACIFIC
NEW MONDAY, 9PM, ITV1 TRAVELOGUE

Martin Clunes began an island-hopping adventure in the Pacific in 2019 for a new travelogue. but his trip was cut short the next year by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first three episodes of ITV's Islands of the Pacific hit our screens two years ago, and now the actor and broadcaster is concluding his epic expedition in the planet's largest ocean with a follow-up trio of instalments, in which he explores more of the culture, history and landscape of this breathtakingly beautiful part of the world.

Martin's journey restarts in Papua New Guinea, as he sets off from its capital Port Moresby to visit the Trobriand Islands before heading to New Britain, where the spectacular volcanoes have literally shaped the area, and Gilibwa, where subsistence fishermen face rising sea levels.

The subsequent episodes will turn the spotlight on the Philippines and Guam.

Here, in an exclusive interview, the Doc Martin star, 62, talks TV Times through his itinerary...
