DEAD RINGERS

NEW FROM FRIDAY 21 APRIL, PRIME VIDEO DRAMA

You might think you’re close with your siblings, but the twin sisters at the heart of Prime Video’s new six-part psychological thriller, Dead Ringers, are uncomfortably co-dependent to the point of obsession.

Based on director David Cronenberg’s 1989 film of the same name, this modern retelling follows gifted identical-twin obstetricians Elliot and Beverly Mantle (both played by Oscar-winning British star Rachel Weisz), who are on a mission to revolutionise women’s healthcare by opening up a groundbreaking birthing centre in Manhattan.

Along with their ambitious career goals, the duo share almost everything in life – patients, a home, and even love interests – yet they couldn’t be more different: Elliot is the outspoken, thrill-seeking sister, while sensible, reserved Beverly is quietly trying for a baby herself.

But when Beverly falls in love with a patient – an enigmatic up-and-coming actor called Genevieve (The Umbrella Academy’s Britne Oldford) – jealousy, distrust and danger soon infiltrate the Mantle siblings’ intimate relationship.
