BLUE LIGHTS

NEW MONDAY, 9PM, BBC1 DRAMA (BOX SET, BBC iPLAYER)

A trio of rookie front-line response officers trying to learn the ropes while working under extraordinary pressure are at the heart of BBC1’s new procedural drama, Blue Lights.

Set in contemporary Belfast, the six parter sees Sherlock star Sian Brooke play mum-of-one Grace, a 40-something former social worker who has decided to retrain as a cop with the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

Her fellow newbies are Tommy (newcomer Nathan Braniff), who is desperate to prove he has what it takes to be in the force, and Annie (The Dig’s Katherine Devlin), who is struggling to settle into her new environment. In a city with unique dangers for police officers, the three of them must work out who they can trust – and fast.

TV Times caught up with Sian to find out more about the drama…
