Long before he found fame and fortune as a footballing star, David Beckham cut his teeth as a young player in the Echo Junior League with Ridgeway Rovers.

Now the 47-year-old returns to his East London roots to mentor a group of boys from the under-14 Westward Boys team in that same league for a new docuseries, Save Our Squad, launching on Disney+ this week.

As well as getting to know the lads and passing on his advice, David meets the coaches and parents who sacrifice so much for the kids and the club, as his own mum and dad did. With the team facing relegation, can Becks help his young charges turn their fortunes around?
