David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived

Saturday, 9pm, Sky Documentaries & Sky Showcase

The Harry Potter franchise is one of the most famous in film history, but there’s one behind-the-scenes story from the wizarding world that’s never been told until now.

This documentary shares the journey of Daniel Radcliffe’s former stunt double and best friend, David Holmes, who broke his neck when a stunt went wrong during the making of one of the Potter movies.

‘This is the story that matters the most to me from Harry Potter,’ says Radcliffe, who executive produced the film. ‘It’s crazy how much David did for me.’

Holmes was a promising teenage gymnast before he was hand-picked to be Radcliffe’s stand-in, and the pair became best friends during the decade they spent working together on the eight Potter movies.
