MP John Stonehouse famously faked his own death by leaving a pile of clothes on a Miami beach in 1974, before being tracked down in Australia, living under an assumed name.
Now, his bizarre story – which takes in infidelity, alleged espionage and fraud – is being told in a three-part drama starring married actors Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes as Stonehouse and his wife Barbara.
