RYAN GOSLING EVA, THE KIDS & being Ken

His memorable ‘I’m Just Ken’ dancing scene might go down in history as one of Ryan Gosling’s greatest ever performances, especially thanks to his recent Oscar nomination for the role. But the 43-year-old has revealed that the now-iconic moment in the blockbuster Barbie film wasn’t, in fact, a part of the original movie. “It was sort of like not initially in the script and it sort of evolved as we were working,” he explained.

The scene was also, Gosling shares, motivated by two very special little ladies in his life – daughters Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7 – who, despite being kept mainly out of the public eye, joined him on set while he filmed it. “I have to credit my kids too, so much, because they were like the source of my Ken-ergy in that,” he gushed. “They came to set that day. It’s the only day they’ve actually been to set on a film I’ve done, but they knew all the words and all the lyrics, and they were behind the camera just like [doing the dance moves].”
