British-Zimbabwean actor Regé-Jean Page sent fans swooning as the star of Netflix’s record-breaking period drama Bridgerton, which debuted on Christmas Day in 2020. Although he only played the brooding Duke of Hastings for one season, the steamy portrayal opposite love interest Phoebe Dynevor is the role he says still sees him stopped on the street the most. “I think so many people watched Bridgerton during lockdown and are still watching it,” he tells WHO. “But I’m happy with that. I welcome that kind of positive interaction.”

Hearts broke when Page, who turns 35 on April 27, decided to leave the series, with many fans remaining hopeful he will someday return to the role. “I take that as a compliment, but I don’t know if that will happen,” he says. “I feel like Simon and Daphne got their happily-ever-after ending. But I loved my time on Bridgerton and I’m very grateful for the opportunities it opened up for me.”
