OUT AND ABOUT WITH... THE SPORTING CAMBRIDGES
Royal Britain Presents Royal Life|Issue 59
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have always been strong in their support for sporting events, and they have attended some major ones of late - with surprise appearances from Prince George and Princess Charlotte!
OUT AND ABOUT WITH... THE SPORTING CAMBRIDGES

The Duchess of Cambridge is a very keen sportswoman and believes that sport has the power to engage, educate and inspire and change lives for the better.

The Duchess of Cambridge's passion for sport stems from Her Royal Highness's own experience and enjoyment of playing sport from a young age, in particular tennis, hockey, and sailing.

The Duke of Cambridge is a kindred spirit, a keen sportsman who has advocated the power of sport to effect change, transform lives, and bring people together.

Together the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hold a number of patronages and associations which reflect their sporting passions and celebrate the very best of British sporting traditions.

Some major sporting events have dominated the calendar of the busy Duke and Duchess of late. One of these was the Commonwealth Games, which we felt merited a separate feature elsewhere in this issue, and Royal watchers were delighted to see Princess Charlotte in attendance alongside her proud parents.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also took 8-year-old Prince George to his first ever Wimbledon final on July 10th, saying it was her firstborn's "treat day".

On this occasion the Duchess looked summery in a navy blue ruffled polka-dot silk midi dress by designer Alessandra Rich. Prince George looked very smart in a suit and tie, though to be honest this may have been a little uncomfortable for him on what turned out to be a blazing hot day.

The young Royal was seen hiding his face, laughing and wincing as he watched Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios battle it out on Centre Court in the Wimbledon's Men's Singles final.

On arrival, the Royals greeted ball boys and girls as well as Wimbledon staff in the Millennium building before crossing the bridge over cheering crowds into Centre Court.
