The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were all smiles at a New York gala last week, where Meghan received the Women of Vision Award for her advocacy for women and girls.
The couple – who attended the ceremony at the Ziegfeld Ballroom with her mother Doria Ragland – beamed for the cameras and looked delighted to be making their first public appearance together since King Charles’ coronation.
But sadly, their joy was short- lived and according to claims made by their spokesperson, Harry, Meghan and Doria were involved in a “near-catastrophic car chase” after the event, when they were followed by “aggressive” paparazzi.
“Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms Ragland were involved in a near-catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” said their spokesperson the day after the event.
