Davina 'struggling as kids leave home

Watching your kids grow up and fly the nest is a difficult experience for any parent, including My Mum, Your Dad presenter Davina McCall. In fact, things got so much for her that she revealed she “couldn’t stop crying” when it happened.

Davina – who is mum to Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and Chester, 18 – has opened up about the emotional impact of “empty nest syndrome” following her eldest’s big move to Manchester since graduating from Newcastle University in July, admitting she “cried all the way home” after dropping Holly off in a new city.

imageNow, a source has told new that Davina, 57, is struggling with the idea of no longer being needed by her children as Holly joins her sister Tilly – currently living in Sydney, Australia – in moving out, leaving their brother Chester as the sole sibling living with their mum.

“With only Chester still at home, she just can’t believe how fast her kids are growing up,” the source claimed. “Davina, like any mum, also can’t help worry about her daughters, even though they’re in their twenties. She feels like part of her is missing now that they’re living their own lives and that she won’t be needed in the same way. She’s no longer being asked to make dinners, do their washing etc. It’s the little things that she’ll miss.”
