Selma's STORY

Barely a month after making her debut on Dancing With the Stars, Selma Blair had bad news. "The results came back," the actress who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 - tearfully told pro partner Sasha Farber following a fresh round of MRIS, and "my body is definitely taking a hit." She explained that participating on the show had led to "intensive bone trauma and inflammation among rips and tears." If Selma continued, there could be "extensive damage."

So on Oct. 17, five weeks into the competition, Selma took her final bow. "I really want to have one last beautiful dance," she declared, calling it "a dance for everyone that has tried and hoped they could do more," while also accepting there's "power in realizing it's time to walk away."

The Cruel Intentions star's emotional goodbye came almost four years to the day after she announced she'd been diagnosed with MS, an incurable central nervous system disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of nerves, disrupting communication between the brain and body. "Her bow-out from DWTS was bittersweet she wanted to continue despite doctor's orders but her son Arthur comes before anything else," shares a source of Selma's 11-year-old with ex Jason Bleick, a fashion executive. "She needs to be as healthy as possible, not only for herself but for him."
