LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

PREM CHOPRA

The Lifetime Achievement Award was a homecoming of sorts for Prem Chopra, who used to work in the circulation department of the Times Of India before venturing into films. He was born on September 23, 1935 in Lahore and the family moved to Shimla after Partition. He was actively pursuing theatre since his college days. After graduation, he moved to Mumbai as he wanted to act in films and got a job with TOI. He started his career as the leading man in the Punjabi film, Chaudhari Karnail Singh (1960), which proved to be a hit.
