CLIMBING THE GANGWAY OF OPPORTUNITIES

"O Asvins, with horses that flew with swift wings ye delivered Bhujyu from distress. To the son of Tugra who had invoked you at the ocean, Asvins, you with your chariot swift as thought, well-harnessed, carried him off to safety."

According to Vedic literature, `Ashwani' is associated with speed and vitality.

Dynamic in nature and true to his name, Capt Ashwani Nayar, Deputy CEO at Hind Terminals Pvt Ltd., possess a pioneering spirit, a drive to succeed, and an adventurous personality. Intrigued and fascinated by his significant achievements, we met him for a candid conversation...

Let's start at the very beginning, a very good Place to Start! What are your early memories of joining the Merchant Navy? And how did your career progress from a young cadet to seasoned sailor and Master on ship?

During the period from 1980 to 1990, I had the privilege of working at SCI (Shipping Corporation of India). This experience provided me with valuable insights into the shipping industry and honed my skills in various aspects of maritime operations.

From 1990 to 1993, I took on the challenging role of Chief Officer at Wallems, Hong Kong, where I had the opportunity to showcase my leadership abilities and contribute to the overall success of the organization. This position allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved in managing a company and its operations.
